Common questions

How do I apply for housing with THA?
Start with the Apply For Housing page. You will choose between public housing at a THA community and the Housing Choice Voucher program, then complete a pre-application. If a waiting list is closed, you can sign up to be notified when it opens.
What is the Housing Choice Voucher program?
Housing Choice Voucher (sometimes called Section 8) helps you rent from a private landlord. You pay a portion of the rent based on your income and THA pays the rest directly to the landlord.
How long is the waiting list?
Wait times vary by program, bedroom size and community. THA posts openings and closures on the News and Updates page, and mails or emails updates to applicants on the list.
How do I report fraud or drug activity?
Call the Report Fraud & Drug Activity line. Reports can be made anonymously, and you never have to give your name to be taken seriously.
How do I request information in an accessible format?
THA provides documents in large print, audio and Braille, and provides interpretation on request. Call or email us and tell us the format you need — there is no cost to you.
Where do I find current RFPs and bids?
All open solicitations are listed in the Contracting section with posting dates, due dates and downloadable documents, along with Section 3 requirements for contractors.
